Governance, kept in order.
Sheona is a corporate governance and commercial professional with experience in governance design, major commercial initiatives, government-funded programs, procurement, securities, corporate transactions, and complex stakeholder environments.
Her work focuses on building and strengthening governance structures that support commercial organizations through periods of growth, investment, restructuring, and organizational change — developing governance frameworks, clarifying decision-making authority, supporting boards and shareholders, and translating legal and commercial requirements into practical governance processes.
Background
Where the work has taken her.
Multi-Party & Stakeholder Initiatives
Sheona has supported significant commercial initiatives involving public and private-sector participants, Indigenous organizations, governments, investors, legal counsel, and other institutional stakeholders — negotiating and supporting multi-party arrangements with federal, provincial, municipal, and private-sector partners, with a focus on long-term revenue, ownership interests, commercial rights, and effective governance.
Capital Markets & Corporate Finance
She has extensive capital markets and corporate finance experience supporting public companies through complex financing and listing transactions, including seed financings, private placements, public offerings, special warrant prospectus offerings, and non-offering prospectus listings. Her work spans regulatory coordination across the TSX, TSX Venture Exchange, and Canadian Securities Exchange, as well as U.S. market matters, preparing offering and listing documentation and coordinating multidisciplinary closing processes with executives, auditors, securities counsel, transfer agents, and regulators.
Funding & Institutional Finance
Her funding experience extends beyond traditional capital markets to commercial initiatives involving government funding, institutional financing, private capital, and multi-party investment structures — structuring approval and reporting processes and coordinating funding stakeholders as capital moves from approval through implementation.
Government Procurement
Sheona also has experience with government procurement and federally funded initiatives, including contract administration, procurement processes, funding requirements, service-provider relationships, compliance, and reporting. Earlier in her career, she supported executives across Canadian federal departments and agencies.
Corporate Secretary & Compliance
She has served as a Corporate Secretary and appointed corporate officer, responsible for governance administration, regulatory compliance, board and shareholder processes, corporate records, and implementation of board decisions, with a broader transactional background spanning securities offerings, continuous disclosure, corporate reorganizations, M&A matters, and regulatory filings.
Operations Leadership
Sheona also brings senior operational experience, having helped operate a 30-person financial reporting and corporate services business — overseeing strategic planning, finance, budgeting, human resources, risk management, systems implementation, and multidisciplinary professional teams.
Her professional focus is the intersection of governance, funding, and commercial execution — establishing clear authority, strong oversight, effective reporting, disciplined decision-making, and governance structures aligned with an organization's commercial and financial objectives.
